Ownership Of Materials

As a general principle all material developed by Bevill State Community College instructors are the property of Bevill State Community College and are subject to revision by individual instructors teaching the courses. Bevill State claims ownership of all educational materials involved in teaching classes, on all four campuses and at the respective centers that were developed partially on college time using college resources. Such ownership includes, but not limited to, test banks, syllabi, and all distance education method courses. However, Bevill State cedes control of the assessments, class notes, presentations, and handouts, if they were not developed on college time using college resources.

The exceptions to this rule are materials that are produced in the course of duties based on the employment contract or program agreement and are intended for the institution to copyright, trademark, or patent.
