Offically established by the Alabama Legislature in 1985, The Alabama Mining Academy at Bevill State is the central agency for assistance to Alabama’s miners and mine operators in Mine Safety and Health Training. The fundamental mission is to provide assistance to the mining industry, by developing and implementing effective Mine Health and Safety programs; and to improve and expand programs aimed at a safer, more productive mining industry.
